Jewel of the day: Alexis Bittar modern Georgian ring

This is a spectacular piece, large and yet light and airy at the same time. Bittar referenced jewelry of the Georgian era in terms of giving light play to the stone in this piece. On his web site he describes it thus: Bittar uses reflective stones which pull in light and imitate the fluidity of water. The Drunken Marquis hand-cut stones enable Bittar to explore the use of negative space in his designs.

Available for USD $355 and part of his current Miss Havisham collection. I like Bittar’s lucite pieces but this metal and glass work is a nice departure for him.
