Yesterday, I posted a sapphire and diamond flower head clip. Here is a costume jewellery version made by Marcel Boucher in the 1950s. The set features the same cabochon stones to accent the petals and a similar overall shape. Boucher had worked as a fine jeweller, and used a lot of baguettes and cabochon shaped stones in his work, as can be seen in the both the green set, which has two matching scatter pins and clip earrings, and the turquoise flower, with matching earrings. For Boucher purists, I have now seen three different earring designs sold with this particular flower pin, though of course it’s possible somewhere along the way someone put the two pieces together because of the turquoise stones.
