Jewel of the day: Faraone Mennella bracelet to benefit debRA.org

Renowned Italian jeweller Faraone Mennella has designed a delicate sterling silver butterfly bracelet to benefit DebRA – the Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association of America. This is a rare genetic disease characterized by the presence of extremely fragile skin and recurrent blister formation, resulting from minor mechanical friction or trauma. The butterfly is intended to symbolize the fragility of the affected skin but it is a beautiful symbol, well rendered as a unisex bracelet. The cost is USD $30 with all proceeds going to benefit the organization. The tiny butterfly is strung on a leather cord and can be ordered here.
