Amidst the patrician blondes who walked Lauren’s fall winter 2010 runway were a few beauties adorned in deepest black jet, beloved by the mourning Queen Victoria and still used to great effect today.

In particular, Lauren showed these slender drop earrings with a number of looks; they accent but didn’t overpower the rich velvets, brocades and laces he used.

Necks wrapped in foulards and high collars were also a focal point, and when he bared that part of the body, Lauren promptly embellished it with a fabulous jet choker, and a long strand of flapper beads. (This look also featured mesh fingerless gloves.) A slightly darker look perfect for any glittering event.
