Iconic outfits worn by Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, are going on view at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. This got me thinking about what her engagement ring looked like and – no surprise – it’s as classic and elegant as Ms. Kelly was.
Specs? A 10.47 carat emerald cut diamond flanked by two baguette cut stones set in platinum. If she had needed further inducement to marry Prince Ranier, I’m guessing this spectacular ring would have provided it.
The exhibit opened April 17; she married Prince Ranier on April 18, 1956. The show runs through September 26, 2010 and there is a companion book available. More information is available on the museum’s web site, here: http://www.vam.ac.uk/collections/fashion/gracekelly/
