Jewel of the day: Pyrrha talisman jewelry

I love these designs, inspired by turn of the 19th century seals, often collected by young gentlemen on their grand tours of Europe. Commonly made in plaster, these were framed in groupings. Semi-precious seals have also been popular in rings and fobs. Self-taught Vancouver, BC designers Wade Papin and Danielle Wilmore wanted to give new life to these old pieces, and have used the designs for wonderfully aged rings, necklaces, bracelets and charms, available in a variety of metals. Their guiding principle is that perfection is neither achievable nor necessarily desirable and their slightly broken down work has wonderful charm and hints at the age of the art that inspired them. Available at www.pyrrha.com and various web retailers.
