A new addition to my tiny Walter Schluep collection, this time a small bronze brooch with a trombone clasp and signed only Schluep in engraving on the back in block letters. Mr. Schluep recently retired, I have read, so there will be no new pieces from his workshop. This pin shows what I love best about all jewellery – the artist’s vision shines through in miniature, the workmanship splendid and detailed and simple at the same time. Good jewellery is art and to me, this piece epitomizes that sentiment.
