Jewel of the day: Ranjana Khan necklace

After reading a profile of Ranjana Khan in W Magazine, I wanted to see what her jewelry looked like. She is the wife of an Indian designer, Naeem Khan, now has her own line of clothing, and became wealthy providing high quality embroidery to international designers.

I like some of her things but they just seem to feature a lot of semi-precious stones and rhinestones flung together in ways that seemed fresher a few years ago. Now everyone seems to be offering similar pieces, but at very low price points. Obviously, you get the quality you pay for but I’m not certain I would spend US $645 on the necklace below, made of marble and semi-precious stones (which stones used was not specified by Bergdorf Goodman, whose photo this is). Also available in Canada at Holt Renfrew.
