Jewel of the day: envy brooch

This was designed by Vancouver artisan Erin Dolman for a 2003 exhibit at Object Design Gallery on Granville Island, B.C., entitled “Sins and Virtues”. The brooch is made of silver, acrylic, ebony and paper, and features a pierced heart surrounded by the remnants of a vintage holy card. The skull on the top is set with two garnets. This particular piece represents envy and can be seen on the artist’s website here: http://www.erindolman.com/1ofakind.php?pid=399&pg=5&lwr=35&upr=41

It is unmarked, so I hope Ms. Dolman has now decided to mark all her pieces! You can find similar one-of-a-kind pieces here (though she also does production work): http://www.erindolman.com/1ofakind.php as well as contact information for the artist.
